Aaron is a lifelong Northern Kentuckian who is dedicated to ensuring that a person’s ability to thrive is not determined by their income.  After starting his career in banking, Aaron took a position as the Executive Pastor of The Next Chapter Church in Wilder, KY.  In addition to teaching and managing the business operations of the church, Aaron led initiatives to establish transitional housing for homeless families in Newport, KY, ensure dryer, safer, and warmer homes for families living in Kentucky’s Appalachian region and provide safe housing and educational opportunities for orphans in Jos, Nigeria.  Currently, Aaron is the Executive Director at Faith Community Pharmacy whose mission is to ensure that no one in Northern Kentucky goes without needed, lifesaving prescription medications due to affordability.  After graduating from Newport Central Catholic High School, Aaron received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Denison University and his Master’s in Business Administration from Thomas More University.

 

Christina Powers

Christina Powers currently serves as a Ready to Work Coordinator (RTW) at Gateway Community & Technical College. Christina is responsible for providing case management services to help parents on campus move toward self-sufficiency. Christina does this by streamlining and coordinating resources, providing life skills mentorship, job and career preparation training, and providing a strong support system for our parents.

Christina has over 15 years of direct service and leadership experience ranging from managing a Neighborhood Center for a local non-profit to providing DCBS contracted work with the Child Care Assistance Program. Because of these former positions held, Christina is familiar with the strategies and resources needed to remove barriers to success and building families up from poverty. Because of her experience Christina was selected to present Holistic Case Management Strategies at Ohio State University’s Student Parent Support Symposium which highlighted best practices for retaining low-income parents, providing holistic case management to increase retention rates, combining case management strategies with partners and ability to coordinate services. Christina is a member of the Safety Net Alliance (SNA) and a member of the SNA Executive Committee. Christina also chairs the SNA Work Supports Committee. Christina started her undergraduate degree at Gateway Community & Technical College and earned her Associate of Elected Studies in Management along with Bachelor of Business Administration from Thomas More University.


Kim Webb

Kim Webb is a veteran leader in the non-profit industry, holding leadership roles today in community-based organizations focused on helping the homeless. Currently the Executive Director of The Emergency Shelter of Northern Kentucky (ESNKY), Kim works tirelessly to provide the homeless population in Northern Kentucky life-saving and life changing shelter. Kim’s mission is to educate the community and advocate for the homeless citizens of Northern Kentucky. She believes homelessness is a human decency issue, and she defines the fabric of a community by its willingness to help the homeless. Her actions and decisions are driven by her leadership motto: "Managers do things right. Leaders do the right thing.” She works to provide equal access to homeless individuals while minimizing the trauma in their lives. Kim also promotes access to state and locally funded programs to further assist the homeless and provide them with self-sufficiency skills to accelerate their return to housing stability. Kim is a 2020 Outstanding Woman of NKY honoree, serves on the Steering Committee of The Safety Net Alliance and the Kentucky Interagency Council on Homelessness. She serves as Vice President of her 2017 Leadership of Northern Kentucky (LNK) class and continues to serve on the LNK alumni committee and the LNK Economic Development Day Committee. She is recognized as a thought leader thru national media and has presented in national webinars about homelessness.

Karen Zengel

Saint Vincent De Paul of Northern Kentucky

Karen Zengel is the Executive Director for St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky, overseeing an extensive outreach ministry dedicated to person-to-person service and providing essential support to those facing hardship. Her passion lies in sharing hope with neighbors in need, believing that no one should ever be alone in their time of need. With a background in market research, she brings data analytics, business acumen, and relationship-building skills to her role, which encompasses working with over 600 dedicated volunteers who personally visit with those in need of assistance.  St. Vincent de Paul has developed 14 different programs that provide financial assistance and basic material needs and a network of 4 thrift stores supporting outreach efforts across Northern Kentucky.

Bridget Statmiller

Bridget is currently the Pet Protection Program Director for Women's Crisis Center. She grew up in Northern KY and completed a bachelors of Social Work at Northern Kentucky University.  She has had the privilege of supporting and empowering survivors in their journey in a few different roles.  She began my time with Women's Crisis Center in the year 2000 as a volunteer and has served as Children's Program Manger and Shelter Program Coordinator. In her spare time she enjoys kayaking and volunteering at a dog rescue.

Andy Brunsman is a lifelong West Sider from Cincinnati who has spent the last 13 years working in Northern Kentucky as a champion for residents in need of direct assistance. His fifteen-year career includes experience with four local nonprofits including Our Daily Bread, Ronald McDonald House, Welcome House of Northern Kentucky and his current position as executive director at Be Concerned, Inc., where he has been at the food pantry helm since August 2013. Following his time at Elder High School, Andy obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Communications Studies from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio. 


Jennifer Wiley

Brighton Center

Jennifer Wiley joined Brighton Center in 2012. She’s held various leadership roles in emergency assistance, housing stabilization, home visitation, workforce development, and more. She understands how connecting families to the right resources can help them move from crisis to stability. As Housing and Family Well-Being Director, Jenny oversees several programs, including Financial Wellness, Stable Families, Rapid-Rehousing, and the Building Community Well-Being federal grant.  Jennifer considers Brighton Center her “second career.” For more than twenty years, she was the director of the Passionist Volunteers, a volunteer program with locations in Wyoming County, West Virginia, Seattle, Wahington, and Brooklyn, New York. Jenny earned her bachelor’s degree from Temple University and her associate degree from Philadelphia Community College.
